Trip Details

2-3 days on the Klamath - 1 day on the Salmon - 2 days on the Trinity
9am on Day 1: Meet in Happy Camp, CA (2 hours from Ashland or Mt. Shasta)
5-6 day adventure on 3 spectacular rivers fit to your timeframe
Mostly class II-III rapids, the largest rapids are III+/-IV
Includes all meals, rafting & safety gear, experienced & friendly guides
3pm on Day 6: Finish on the Trinity River near Weaverville, CA

Column

Klamath River: 3 Days

Day 1: Sluice Box to Seattle Creek

(8 miles, Class II-III/III+)

Exciting rapids like Savage (III+), Lower Savage (III), Otters Play Pen (III+), and Fort Goff Falls (III). After rafting we drive to our campsite at Ferry Point for a riverside dinner.

Day 2: Happy Camp to Ferry Point

(11 miles, class II-III/III+)

Featuring Swimmers Rapid, Swirly Whirlpool and the sacred pools of Clear Creek. Float into Ferry Point Base Camp for a riverside dinner and unbelievable star gazing!

Day 3: Ferry Point to Coon Creek

(9 miles, Class III/-IV)

Highlights include secluded river canyon, Dragon’s Tooth (-IV) and a breathtaking hike to Ukonom Falls! Return to Ferry Point Camp sight for riverside dinner.

Salmon River: 1 Day

Day 4: Brannan’s Bar to G.Geary

(2 miles, Class II-III)

A short but spectacular 2 miles of floating on the pristine, crystal clear water draining snow melt rom the Marble Mountains. One of the prettiest rivers in the Western Unites States, the Salmon is well worth the visit. Highlights include Sturgeon (III), Oak Bottom (II+/III) and Somes Creek. The afternoon includes a riverside lunch, relaxing and swimming at a gorgeous Salmon River swimming hole before the 2 hour drive to Hayden Flat Campground.

* Longer stretches of river used to be available, however sections of the land and river were returned to the indigenous Karuk people and commercial rafting permits were suspended. While we miss the extra few miles of river, we deeply respect the will of the Karuk people.

Trinity River: 2 days

Day 5: Hayden Flat to Cedar Flat

(8 miles, Class II+/III at high water)

A relaxing and beautiful day on the majestic turquoise waters of the Trinity River. Highlights include waterfall views, Big Eddy, and a 4-rapid mini-gorge (II+/III during Spring flows). Return to Hayden Flat Campground for swimming, relaxation and a fireside feast!

Day 6: Pigeon Point to Big Flat

(6 miles, Class III/III+)

This action-packed run is full of whitewater with rapids such as Good Mornin’ America (III), The Slot (III), Hell Hole (III+), Sailor’s Bar (III), Pinball (III) and FishTail III). Take out around 2:30: sit back, relax and enjoy a scenic 3:15 shuttle back to Ashland for an approximate 6pm drop off. Or continue on your won way from the Trinity RIver.
